Confined But Comforted

Imagine sitting in a jail cell serving time for a crime you did not commit. The great life you once lived is now a distant memory and all that you’ve worked hard to accomplish is swiftly gone! To be physically confined to a place of emptiness and turmoil with little comfort is both challenging and painful…YET..this was the fate of Joseph (Jacob’s son).

Joseph was wrongly thrown into prison: but his confinement was a part of his process. Even in his place of confinement he was comforted by God. He was positioned with purpose. His pain made him prolific. See… God will sometimes allow you to remain in THE process, but its in that process where you’ll come to know His strength and sustainability. He will not abandon or forsake you. {Deuteronomy 31:8} {Joshua 1:9} {1 Peter 5:7}

When you are positioned in purpose, process forces you to become refined and renowned. The refining builds character and breaks down s-e-l-f. The breaking down of self is vital to spiritual growth because it’s in selfLESSness where you find self-fulfillment (isn’t that strange?).

I often ask myself: Where do I feel confined in my life and if that confinement is God-lead or self- bred? YOU are your biggest gatekeeper. You have the power to walk in complete freedom or rest in partial constraint. CHOOSE and choose wisely because the decision you make is not only for you. Someone somewhere is depending on your release.

Wherever you find yourself in process, know that trials come to make you strong. Embrace your place of growth and allow God to show you who HE is.
